Wonderful White T-Shirt Outfits as Part of a Neutral Fall Color Theme

White t-shirt outfits are something that can be put together all year long. Yet most of us think of a white t-shirt as the basic for our summer looks. So I thought we’d put together white t-shirt outfits with a curtsy to the fall season.

Quote of the day: “An effort made for the happiness of others lifts above ourselves.” Lydia M. Child

I’m guessing most of you have at least one (if not more) white shirts in your closet? In fact, I asked each of us to count how many we have. Lesley counted 20 white shirts and blouses, 2 wearable tees and 6 cream colored tops. I think that means they really are versatile.

Since fall seems to bring about more muted colors and weather, it makes sense to style our white t-shirt outfits with our neutrals. For this look, Lesley said: “These cropped pants color reminds me of the times we could burn fallen leaves which produced the true fragrance of autumn.”

Insider tip: Want to try the cropped versions but not spend a ton of money? Lesley shortened these pants to make them cropped. You can easily do this to a pair of pants you don’t wear much or that you’ve thrifted.

The True Star of the Show

The scarf is the true star of this show as it pulls together the entire look with the different neutrals. Lesley said that grey and caramel brown colors she would have scoffed about pairing together until she really looked at the scarf.

For those of you who don’t love the idea of a scarf so close to your neck, this loop can be easily pulled down to hang at a place you feel better wearing. Depending on the fabric, some scarves stay put while others tend to slide around.

Insider tip: If your scarf does not want to stay in place, there are many clips you can use to keep it from moving. Even the idea of combining it with this necklace means you could layer the necklace OVER the scarf which will somewhat hold it in place.

Mixing Your Metals

Wearing gold and silver together is widely done nowadays, yet I know at times it still seems wrong. At least for me personally, I tend to stick with one metal for my pairings. Then I tell myself to stop being silly, and wear them together.

Lesley may be wearing a silver necklace and bracelet, but notice that the handle on the purse is gold. In a way this is just like the fall weather….a little warmth and a little coolness.
And if it’s too hard to mix them yourself, why not find pieces that have them already mixed together?

Tie up a top from the inside

Using a “Tie” with White T-Shirt Outfits

It’s not easy to see but Lesley “tied” up her white t-shirt to give it a better proportion with the shorter pants. For this trick, she used a clear elastic from the INSIDE of the shirt. You can see how to do this in more detail in the below link from my Instagram video.
Or if it’s easier, you can always purchase your tops with ties included.

Brown flats for fall

Brown Flats

The only reason these flats are wet is because we had to walk through the wet grass to get to this mural. Where was the mural? You’d never guess!! It is outside the food court at our local mall. Rob and I discovered it when we were walking the mall while our recreation center was closed down and it was too hot to walk outside.

After seeing the brand of these shoes, I asked Lesley more details about them. Because they are the same brand of a pair I bought this summer at Bealls for only $15. Yet my pair was seriously comfortable. (You can see my neon pink pair here with the monochrome outfit).
Lesley said her pair is comfy enough for short periods of time, but not a lot of walking. Bummer, because I was thinking that maybe I had found another comfy and stylish brand of shoes to share with you all.
