Elevating Jeans and Long Blazer Fashion for a Superior Outfit
Continuing on the theme of long completer pieces as suggested by Kim, Lesley is combining her long blazer fashion with jeans. I always love the idea of pairing a blazer as part of a more casual look and what’s more casual than jeans.
Quote of the day: “I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder.” Salma Hayek
In response to the quote above, I believe each of us is beautiful. Along with this is my belief that it’s never too late to look great. Even if you want to wear jeans, you can still elevate the denim look with various items. Today, for Lesley, that means incorporating her long blazer fashion.
The idea for this set of posts came from a reader, Kim, who wanted to know about styling long jackets. To give us some variety, Charlotte started with a long cardigan and I finished up with a long vest.
Now the adjective long is subjective. Yet basically, long enough to cover the tush is the one that could be more challenging.

Scarf Love
Lesley is definitely a master at using her scarves in many of her outfits. Her comments was that “this scarf elevates the look from casual to classy and makes it an outfit instead of just clothes.”
It also give her more colors to pull from when choosing accessories. I would agree that it makes it more multi dimensional with so little effort.
Do you know what else the scarf does in this outfit? It creates a bit of asymmetry and vertical dimension. Like I always say, it’s basically magical.

Blazer
Most women tend to get rid of their blazers when they retire. If you’re not working, why do you need a professional piece like this? I will say that I did purge my “boring” blazers when I sold my practice.
However, even now I search for blazers especially when thrifting. This wonderful piece of clothing can pair so well with dress slacks for a dressier event, a pencil skirt for a professional affair or over a dress to act as a jacket.
We’ve shown the same blazers for different occasions in the past

As Lesley is showing here, with jeans in a long blazer fashion outfit. She’s wearing it over a black top, but it could also be worn with a plain tee, graphic tee or any button down shirt.

Black Patent Footwear
Lesley purchased these black patent loafers from Walking Cradles last spring when they were part of a close out sale. She wasn’t sure about them once they arrived, but I talked her into keeping them (knowing that black patent is always a good idea).
She is very glad especially now that we are seeing one of the current shoe trends as “clunky loafers” and these fit the bill somewhat. Plus they are great for a day of shopping and walking yet look more polished than a sneaker.
Insider tip: If you are a patent leather lover, Walking Cradles has many options available. Search for the “Fall Casual Flat”, the “Reece Flat” in red and the “March” (among others).
By the way, I am an ambassador for this footwear company because I love the fact they provide comfort and style. If you purchase using my link, I may receive a small commission. And if it’s your first purchase, use code JODIE15 for 15% off (as long as there isn’t a better sale going on).
