Welcome January 2018
If someone asked you what you did this January, what would you say? I think it can be so hard to remember specific days and events when every day goes by in a flash, right? So I joined up with a couple of other bloggers to keep track of the month of January with a sentence and some photos. There’s a link up below if you’d like to see the other bloggers who are participating in this project, and a huge thanks for Leslie for organizing us!!
1-1: Let’s talk about how I spent the first day of 2018—in my pj’s. The entire day!!!
1-2: We decided to take down the Christmas tree and decorations today. That and we found this old rug in my mom’s basement that Monkey seems to absolutely love.
1-3: Rob and I ventured to his appointment with a nutritionist to find out if he could control his EoE (Eosniophilic Esophagitis). Trust me when I say that Rob would rather use the steroid inhaler, but I want to see how we could maybe change our diet and control it.
1-4: As part of our evolving schedule with my moms and taking photos, we’ve been also trying out new places to eat around town after the hard work of modeling.
1-5: We put together our bar cart for our breakfast nook area after having our dental cleanings.
1-6: Let’s just say there was a nap included today.
1-7: Wow…two days of napping in a row, that’s the way I like to start the new year!
1-8: A trip to Ikea to begin the process of organizing our closet even better. Of course, we also had to visit the nearby Flemings to check out their happy hour.
1-9: Rob visited the allergist to see if his esophageal concerns could be allergy related. bur he only has a slight allergy to grasses.
1-10: Knit day!
1-11: It was take the mom’s out and take blog photos day!! Along with happy hour at Root Down! If you’re ever in the Denver Airport, you can check out this quirky, fun restaurant on Terminal C too!
1-12: We were so blessed to meet up with Laura who I met on Instagram through the #thriftedchicstylechallenge. It’s amazing how many wonderful women I’ve met through this social media site. As a hobby, she makes jewelry, so feel free to check out her Instagram page or her etsy store.
1-13: We decided to celebrate our 14th anniversary a month early for a couple of reasons. One because we were emailed a fabulous deal at one of our favorite destinations in Colorado: The Broadmoor. And two because I am the director of the Forever Fierce Campaign, and will be incredibly busy during our actual anniversary on February 14th. Make sure to join the Forever Fierce Facebook Group to hear all about it.
1-14: The incredible view from our window at the Broadmoor. It’s quite the spectacular place not only in the campus, but also the customer service.
1-15: It was book club night but I felt lousy after waking up with a sore throat and feeling ewwwy (yes that’s a word I use…LOL) so I missed it…bummer!
1-16: Welcome the flu…I haven’t been really sick in a long time, so I guess it was time…Rob talked me into trying his mother’s trick of inhaling Vicks Vapor Rub steam to help my congestion. Anyone else ever try this??
1-17: Luckily my chauffeur could drive me to the chiropractor to help with my pounding headache because I was a mess.
1-18: Finally feeling somewhat human, although sleeping is still my favorite activity, considering it’s hard to get great rest when you’re coughing and your head hurts…
1-19: Since my mom is turning 80 (I know…amazing, right?) this month, I wanted to do something special (besides the Alaskan cruise we have scheduled). So I booked an appointment with an image consultant to get a makeup makeover for her. After that bit of fun, we went to the Boulder Dushanbe Tea House.
1-20: Mom really needed some new colors of makeup after her consult, so we visited Macy’s and indulged her some more. I mean, heck, you only turn 80 once.
1-21: Snow, snow and more snow, so we hunkered down in front of the fireplace with hot chocolate and watched movies!!
1-22: We found the perfect hat rack at Ikea, and finally put it together! Ideally, I would love to be able to see them all in one glance, but I think this works for the space we have.
1-23: It was meet the mortgage guy for some information for Nancy’s upcoming new house.
1-24: Today, I helped a knitting friend with a knitting project, and she even brought me a necklace as a gift….isn’t that the sweetest??
1-25: What a great view to see while my hubby is taking our photos today. And no, that isn’t his hat. He’s just “holding” it for my mother!! Talk about a good sport.
1-26: Tonight we met up with our friends for dinner. The woman used to teach our work out class when we all belonged to Bally’s, and we’ve kept in touch over the years.
1-27: Our view at Red Rocks when we went to take some photos for an Instagram post, bright and early.
1-28: Mom, Nancy, Rob & I attended a jazz and Sunday brunch today. It has been more than fun to have these outings together (besides, you realize we always take blog photos when we get together, right?)
1-29: Lunch with the woman that bought my dental practice. Trust me when I say, I don’t miss the stress of owning a business like that.
1-30: And another lunch outing, this time with a blog reader, Lesley, who we met through our Chico’s Girlfriend’s Event last spring. Then the two of us went over to visit, Trendz—that’s my kind of day!
1-31: Instead of meeting friends for lunch, we had some variety with happy hour today! I see a theme this week……
