In our neck of the woods, we are in the midst of summer weather. That means our daily temperatures are over 100 degrees. Every day. All day. I’m not complaining. Just reporting our local weather. which gives you insight into my clothing choices.
My emails are my way to share fun and positive content with you from all of the sites I visit during the week. Sure, you also get my free eBook when you sign up, but that’s not the best part.
The best part is you get a daily dose of positive energy.

Saturday
I wanted to show the back, because I wore this top backwards. Here is an outfit that I wore as it was meant to be worn.
For today, I decided to double the stripes with this pair of ruffled pants.

SUNDAY
I always love the idea of casualizing a dress. Even though this red dress is silky and seems fancy, I made it good for everyday.
I wore my new pair of rope sandals and then doubled my tan belts.
For me, straw seems more casual, so I wore a straw hat and added a scarf headband.
Instead of red lipstick, I used a plum color(it tends to come across as brown) and brown earrings.
MONDAY
I’m off to help Just Be Youtiful with a fashion event today, so I paired this polka dot dress from her store (last year) with a red bolero.
I added a men’s tie belt that I created from 2 thrifted ties and attached the ends with a brooch.
These sandals have been all over the Caribbean 5 years ago and are still going strong. These are truly classic sandals as I wear them for casual and dress up, and are still available in many colors.

TUESDAY
These shorts were my first clothing item of camo almost 10 years ago, and I’ve worn the heck out of them. In fact, I had a blog post that was ranking in the top Google searches for how to wear camo shorts years ago.
I know the outfit is bold, but I have learned to have fun with print mixing. Sure, there are guidelines when you are just starting (to make it feel right to your eyes), but I like to try it all now.
I did choose gold sandals and rose gold jewelry, which keeps the focus on the outfit, not accessories.
WEDNESDAY
I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned with blogging and playing with my clothes is that the goal isn’t “do I look thinner?” It’s very freeing not to worry about this.
This dress is one of those that makes me look anything but thinner. And yet, I love it. I love it for the print, as well as the loose and flowy aspect.
I wore colorful earrings and tan sandals, and I even shampooed the rug in this getup. That’s how comfy it is.

THURSDAY
We were off to the thrift store, AND it was hot today.
This is one of my best skirts to thrift in at Goodwill. There are no fitting rooms, so you have to think about what to wear to be able to try things on. And this skirt has enough body that it’s easy to try on pants or other skirts under it and then pull it up out of the way to see how they fit.
I wore a camisole and used my bra trick so you don’t “notice” the bra straps. The bra is basically the same color (close enough) that it looks like one strap. That’s why I included the top photo.
I wore bright pink sandals and minimal jewelry since I knew I’d be trying on clothes while shopping.
Wanna see what I bought? Here’s the 5 minute video.
FRIDAY
These pants caught my eye at Just Be Youtiful boutique. Sure, I had to hem them about 4 inches, but they are so “me”.
I was going to wear them with just the tan fitted top, but then I found this gold bolero and thought it looked marvelous.
The bolero is a style from ages past, and one of those items that doesn’t get worn much. I used it for our brain challenge years ago.
I wore thrifted tan sandals and minimal accessories.
