December
If someone asked you what you did this December, what would you say? I think it can be so hard to remember specific days and events when every day goes by in a flash, right? So I joined up with a couple of other bloggers to keep track of the month of December with a sentence day and some photos. There’s a link up below if you’d like to see the other’s participating in this project, and a huge thanks for Leslie for organizing us!!
12-1: Nancy’s church has their Figgy Pudding Party every year which is full of holiday songs, bells and stories. It’s such a perfect way to welcome in December.
12-2: The 4 of us travelled up to Frisco for their Wassail Days. It was such a fun day, and you’ll be able to read more about it next month on the blog.
12-3: Today we visited the Cat Care Society because they were having a Santa Paws event to raise money for their shelter. You might have seen on Instagram Stories that I wore my new cat leggings to the event….
12-4: It was our fabulous book club tonight which was the yearly and highly anticipated holiday party. BUT on top of that our washing machine decided to kick the bucket this morning…..ugh!
12-5: It was a more relaxed day, while I got to try out our new washing machine. It’s amazing how they’ve changed in the last 18 years!!
12-6: Since it’s my birthday month, we usually go shopping to use my birthday coupons and enjoy some food too! Today we went to Seasons 52 for lunch and then some shopping afterwards.
12-7: It was so fun to present at Paradise Luggage about what to pack for the holidays. I hope you’ll check out the post if you missed it.
12-8: One of my side jobs is to unpack and fill orders for a friend who sells supplements and herbs, so it was an unpacking day today.
12-9: Lots of sleeping in, relaxing, and then running errands today!! Of course that includes some photo sessions!!
12-10: We spontaneously decided to attend a Choral Christmas Concert at the Basilica downtown!! We are usually planners to the extreme, so this was out of the norm!! Yet, oh, so fun!
12-11: I finally got to catch up on a bunch of blogging and inside photos!
12-12: A trip to the airport to pick up our neighbors for a short visit to their “Colorado home.”
12-13: Our knitting day women had our holiday pot-luck and gift exchange too. It’s always fun to get a variety of fun items that are not always knitting things.
12-14: Rob called this cannoli day because we traveled over 30 minutes to pick up the cannolis for the Progressive Dinner party tonight. Now that’s a true Italian who loves food, right?
12-15: Happy Birthday to me! And another friend of mine who was surprised with an 80th birthday celebration that we attended!! Say “hi” to Bea, who I used to work for as a waitress at their restaurant when I was in dental school, and then was even their dentist while I had my practice.
12-16: After a fabulously wonderful birthday, we slept in until after 8 am (eeek) and stayed in our pj’s all day.
12-17: The wonderful thing about my birthday month is trying to use all of the free items and discounts that the stores give you. Today we traveled to Panera, the Paper Chandelier, Savory Spice and Kohls.
12-18: Finally I was able to get some alterations finished and clean up the house.
12-19: We set off to get my free scoop of ice cream at Baskin Robbins for my birthday and the store was closed for remodeling……Bummer!! So we went to Panera instead for the December daily free bagel!
12-20: It was a great day to get things done around the house like blocking my sweater that I talked about in my fall bucket list, altering a pair of jeans for a neighbor, and scheduling some Instagram posts!
12-21: We are trying a new format for taking photos for the blog. Now that Rob is retired, we are going to try to take them all together every week. Of course, we will have to see how this works with my mom’s schedules—they are always super busy!
12-22: Today was a full day of errands, and fun to use up the rest of my birthday rewards.
12-23: We stayed in today and I was able to get a lot of alterations and knitting finished. The above knitting project was finished with the leftover yarn from the fair isle sweater. It’s a 2 in 1 hat. You push the one end inside of the other and voila—you have either a striped hat or a cabled hat!
12-24: The whole family (that means, Rob, Nancy, Charlotte & myself) went to see the movie “The Greatest Showman” together.
12-25: Merry, Merry Christmas from Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
12-26: We were invited to see the Ice Castles in Dillon, Colorado, and it was perfect timing since we were coming back from our trek to Glenwood Springs. You can see a ton more of these images in the highlight section of my Instagram profile and soon many will be included in a blog post.
12-27: It always seems to take at least a good day to catch up, unpack and get things organized after getting away. Am I the only one?
12-28: Here’s a behind the scenes of our photo shoot for the day!
12-29: Running errands took up most of the day, but how fun to be able to do it with my hubby and on a Friday since he’s now retired!
12-30: Another stay at home day (except for the trip to the dry cleaners and then church).
12-31: All 4 of us (that’s Charlotte, Nancy, Rob & I) went over to my friends house to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Not that we stayed up until midnight, but it was fun!!
