Informative Reasons to Style a White Denim Jacket Outfit for the Fall and Winter Season
A white denim jacket outfit may not be on your radar for the fall and winter. I bet most of you put away your white jackets once the weather cools off. Yet, knowing that most women don’t wear this piece once summer ends gave me an idea. It challenged me to think about the why and reasons that maybe we should rethink this habit.
Quote of the day: “Differences can be a strength.” Condoleezza Rice
Condoleezza is absolutely right and her quote is exactly one of the reasons to style a white denim outfit now. You will stand out from the crowd of black jackets and therefore shine brightly!
Make sure to visit Charlotte’s post and Lesley’s post where they each showcased a white denim jacket outfit yet we are all so different.
You can see this same white denim jacket styled for spring here.
I’ll clue you in on more reasons below that you might want to keep your white jacket front and center. But first let’s talk about the details of my outfit.
White Denim Jacket Outfit

Jeans: Kut from the Kloth~~ These are a burgundy velvet that I tend to grab especially around the holidays. I did have to shorten them but luckily that’s an alteration that even I can do.
I also showcased these jeans with 8 different color combinations in a short video.
Insider tip: Check out the other easy alterations that can make your clothes fit perfectly. Shared from my mother, Charlotte, a master seamstress.
Jacket: Sugar Lips ~~ I like the raw hem of this shorter jacket. In fact, I wore this jacket under a handknitted vest in the past.
Top: Hand knit by me~~ This is one of my hand knit sweaters You can see it in more detail in my Instagram post. It’s a very lightweight sweater which works perfectly now that we live in Arizona.
Boots: Cecelia New York ~~ I won these boots from an Instagram giveaway. Worn with Sheec Socks.

Scarf: Made by Charlotte~~ My mom had leftover material from a shirt she made for Rob and a shirt for herself (which you can see here), so here’s what happened to the scraps!
Earrings: ~~ These are in the shape of boots. I bought them over 20 years ago. Here is a closeup of them in this Instagram video (fast forward to about a minute in)
Purse: Patricia Nash ~~Another item won in an Instagram giveaway.
Hat: Merona. My wonderful bestie from high school sent me this hat. It used to be her mother’s and she figured I’d wear it more than she would.

Adding Bling to Your Jacket
I love the idea of adding brooches to your denim jacket pockets and we’ve used that trick many times on the blog in the past. So as I was looking through my accessory cabinet, I wanted to try something a little different.
This feather thing could be considered a brooch, in reality. It’s on a clip instead of pin and I think my mom gave it to me.
Anyway, I thought it tied in well with the colors of my sweater.

Reasons for Wearing Your White Denim Jacket in the Colder Seasons
1-Like I said above, you really will stand out among the sea of black jackets.
2-Most of our winter clothing is darker, so this lightens up the entire outfit.
3-If you’re worried about the snow and slush getting your white jeans dirty, it’s safer to wear the white piece on the top half.
Insider tip: Did you know there are no stain white items? Chico’s has white denim jackets with this technology. I have two pair of their jeans. And if you don’t believe it works, make sure to check out how I tested it.
It’s more expensive than others, but it could be worth it if you worry about stains.
4-It’s just as warm as your blue denim jacket.
5-If it’s a little roomier, you can layer it over sweaters, hoodies OR under a vest.
6-It might help with the rule of thirds. I notice especially from the back view, that you see the white jacket as 1/3 of the outfit and the darker colors are the 2/3. Even though the sweater is part of my top half, it blends to be the darker 2/3.

Scarf Love
Of course you don’t need to add a scarf to you purse. I did this for a couple of reasons.
We were planning on going out to eat after this and I knew I’d be taking off my hat. Yet many restaurants are chilly, so I wanted to have a scarf ready just in case.
Why didn’t I wear the scarf around my neck? To me, it looked like too much with the hat and feather clip, but you can see how it looks with just the sweater on my Instagram page coming this Saturday.
At first I was just going to stuff it in my purse, LOL!! Then I realized I could put it on the strap instead, and I really liked how it tied in with the white jacket.

Ankle Boots
Even though I live in Arizona, I find many times to wear my ankle boots. In fact, they tend to dress up an outfit a tidge more than sneakers, while still being comfortable.
When I chose this color, it was described as a pewter, which I thought would go with everything. It’s interesting that they very much look black. Which is a good example, of how we may know the color of something, yet it appears differently depending on the lighting and what we wear with it. For example, so many of our sequin and glitter pieces really aren’t that obvious. I remember that when we took photos for one of our first posts for the blog. The theme was glitter yet you don’t really notice the glitter on our pieces.
And now I wear my Sheec socks with my ankle boots. I used to go barefoot but now that I have found a sock that doesn’t move around, I realize it’s warmer and more comfy to wear them. With my booties, I wear the Active X low cut.
Insider tip: While many of my boots would accommodate the Sheec socks mid or high cut, I’d rather not have a ton of different Sheec sock styles to rifle through in the mornings. The low cut stays in place just as well as the mid cut, so that’s what I tend to buy.
