Empower Your White Blouse Outfit with a Taste of the Wild

Is your white blouse outfit a tad boring or uninteresting? Well let’s give it some ooompf and sass especially for the fall season!! How do you do that? It’s not hard with a couple of ideas from the three of us.

Quote of the day: “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” Walt Disney

How many times have I heard from women that they want to change up or upgrade their style? Yet when their friends suggest something new, the reply is “but that’s not my style.”
That’s exactly the reason I think we should TRY new items and new companies for some of our pieces. One of the reasons something is “your style” is only because you’ve worn it over and over.

Insider tip: My hypothesis is your personality has many branches, therefore, so should your clothing style. Sure, you may lean towards classic but I bet there is a rebel hiding in there at times too!

Lesley’s idea with the white blouse outfit was to incorporate a scarf into the mix. Charlotte used the column of color with her outfit and wore her blouse as a layering piece.
Or check out how all three of us gave an interesting perspective on white tops.

By the way, you can view a short video of the three of us in these outfits on Instagram (the music cracks me up).

For this white blouse outfit I felt it was time to show off my “wild side” with these leopard pants. Then I added in the darker boots and belt to ground the outfit. Yet I also wanted to add in some color near my face with the necklace and earrings.

Belt Love

This is one of those elastic belts where the “buckle” is actually reversible. What I mean is the black leather buckle is a different color on the reverse, so if I flipped it up you would see a pink buckle instead.
I showcased this same belt with the pink side exposed in a recent video on Instagram. It’s with the pencil skirt about halfway through.

These elastic belts can be a wonderful addition to your closet even if you only wear it a couple of times a year. The nice thing is they stretch so you don’t worry about the fit. AND they can add a nice contrast or separation between the tops and bottom of an outfit.

Flattering

I don’t think anyone would look at these photos and think these pants are “flattering” on me. Yet, I don’t think that should be our only goal when getting dressed.
Let’s start incorporating more adjectives into our wardrobe. Like wild, fun or even statement piece.

BUT first let me confess, that I have the same misgivings when trying a new style. These pants were out of my comfort zone and that’s exactly why I bought them last winter. However once I tackled my fear of them by styling them with 5 different colors, I started to think of them as playful.
And I was shocked to see that I had never worn them as part of a white blouse outfit.

Peep Toe Booties

Peep toe booties are another style that I couldn’t understand at first. But let me tell you that a change of location makes them more functional. By the time I wanted to wear booties in Denver, it would have been too cold to have my tootsies exposed.
Yet here in Arizona, the brain is ready for a little fall fashion yet you still need some ventilation.

White Blouse Details

While many times a white blouse could seem boring, there are many now that have fun details. Like this one I’m wearing has small ruffles on the sleeves.
It’s certainly nice to have some fun options with the classic white tops. Yet in saying that, don’t expect everyone else to notice all the bells and whistles. Instead concentrate on the overall look of the outfit and how everything fits to make you feel more empowered.

Insider tip: If you’re going to have many of the same pieces like white tops in your closet, make sure they are VERY different. For example, include a couple that are button up, and then some that are over the head.

My Goal

Thank you for visiting my space on the internet. I like to showcase how it’s never too late to look great for women of any age, size or working with any budget.
I feel I’m here to help move beyond the fashion rules of yesterday and evolve. Style and clothes are made to give you joy. Not cause us stress because we are worried about what other’s think.

My hope is that you get ideas and inspirations from Charlotte, Lesley and myself. It’s not about copying what we wear, but about using what you already have and updating items along the way.
Most of all it’s getting us to think differently and dare I say, have fun?
