Successful Outfit Inspired by Music and Fashion Chosen by the Hubby with Ageless Style
The idea of an outfit inspired by music and fashion was my input for our Ageless Style group this month. Since I am choosing a song that my husband composed for me while we were dating, I also let him choose my outfit.
Quote of the day: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Eleanor Roosevelt
Dreams are something I feel like we give up as we get older. Something to do with real life and responsibility. Yet dreams can also be what keeps us young and has us trying new things.
I say this because my husband used to be musical. In fact, he was on the Sonny Fox show when he was 4 years old, playing his vibes. However, he basically gave it up after many rejections in the music scene and then working in IT full time.
Except when we started dating. He ended up writing me 2 songs. And we played this one at our wedding. It wouldn’t be fair to just talk about it, so Rob loaded it on YouTube so you can hear it too.

Lesley and Charlotte both choose songs that spoke to them. Make sure to explore their outfits inspired by music and fashion.
If you are looking for what to wear to a music concert, then here is a great article.
Outfit Inspired by Music and Fashion

Skirt: Loft~~ Top: Japna~~ Shoes: Walking Cradles c/o~~ Bracelet: Alison + Aubrey~~ Earrings: Theresa Rose Designs~~ Purse: Mix no. 6-DSW
When I here this song now, I think of our wedding, and therefore I thought I’d wear white or something flowy. But then I had the idea to let Rob choose my outfit.
And this is the colorful and bright outfit that Rob selected from my closet. He loves it when I wear lots of color and also doesn’t love it when an outfit is too matchy (I’m sure part of it is training from reading this blog). But then again, he has grown into a fashionable man on his own over these years.

Neutral Accessories
Since the outfit was a combination of two bright colors, he stuck with neutral earrings, bracelet and purse that all coordinated with the fabulous shoes (more about those below).
Yet even when our accessories are neutral (meaning they are either metal or neutral colors) they don’t have to be boring.
Insider tip: Do you like big earrings but don’t like the heavy ones? There are a ton of lightweight earrings now in either leather, fabric or wood that you can wear all day long.
These are from my friend, Theresa, if you are interested.

How Rob Put Together This Music and Fashion Outfit
The song is about me, so he wanted an outfit that was “me.” Something a little happy, fun, with a tad of crazy thrown in!
He started with this yellow skirt. This skirt was an impulse buy that I bought when we were on our way to an event. I was actually wearing something else, but we stopped into a Loft store on the way to the event. I fell in love with this yellow skirt and ended up wearing it to the event instead of my original skirt.
The red top was a recent find at a Marshall’s outing, and Rob liked the style of how it smocks at the waist and then flows out from there. Considering it’s still over 100 degrees most days here in Arizona, it is wonderful for the heat. Yet it’ll also work great under a jacket, cardigan or blazer.

When Shoes Make You Feel Great
I wasn’t the only one who drooled over these shoes when I received them. These are Walking Cradles heels from many years back. Last fall, Walking Cradles was giving away a pair of shoes from their old stock with another purchase. It was a deal that only the attendees of the Trivia Event knew about. Which is why it’s always beneficial to join their events!!
Rob loved these shoes when he first saw them too, and thought they would be a perfect addition to my outfit inspired by music and fashion. The zebra stripes add a bit of print mixing with the red print, and the earrings tie in successfully.
As a quick aside, now that I’m wearing more “real” shoes as opposed to sandals, I have been pulling out my Sheec socks too. If you are looking for no-show socks that REALLY stay put, I can’t recommend these enough.
One of the things that Sheec is doing is having a quarterly discount code so you can stock up and save money every quarter. (It used to be you could only use my code once). My discount is AUTUMNJODIE for 15% off for you to use once this quarter.
Here is the Sheec sock blog post when I first discovered them (and I actually reached out to this company because I loved their product).
You would be amazed to know I am wearing the Sheec Ultra Low Thin Liner with these pumps. (You can see it if you look VERY closely). I never used to try and even wear socks with pumps, but now that I have these, it’s much nicer.
